“Meta” is an ancient Greek word which meant “beyond” or “after.” Today, “Metaverse” is used to describe a computer- generated virtual world “beyond” our physical world where individuals live, work, shop and play together.
We are seeing advertisements on TV & Streaming-Services of individuals using 3D Virtual-Reality Headsets playing games, walking through fantastic colorful worlds, collaborating with others and generally having a “exciting fun filled” time.
A variety of companies including Meta, which changed its name from Facebook to Meta, Decentraland, The Sandbox and others sell goods, services, performances and even virtual real-estate in their Metaverses.
