About Us |
Founded in 1951, the Association of IT Professionals (AITP) remains one of the largest professional technology associations in the country. Chicago is where AITP originated, and AITP Chicago Chapter takes its legacy seriously. Technology professional members have worked diligently since 1951 to make sure meetings are content-based and that IT pros walk away with new, applicable ideas. As one of the technology association’s larger chapters, the Chicago Chapter covers a wide range of technologies by developing close relationships with other business and technology organizations, such as Society of Information Management (SIM), Project Management Institute (PMI), Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), ISACA, InfraGard and the Executives Club of Chicago. MissionIt is the mission of AITP Chicago to provide superior leadership and education in Technology. AITP is dedicated to using synergy of Technology partnerships to provide education and benefits to our members and to working with the industry to assist in overall promotion and direction of Information Technology. Our FocusLetting IT pros specialize and expand their knowledge is what this chapter does best. The Chicago AITP Chapter is known for its shared interest groups, where technology pros can focus on what they want to study, whether it’s infrastructure, mobility, cloud applications or advice from the office of the CIO. Shared interest groups let IT pros dive deeper into specific technology areas. Security, data management and analytics are featured to satisfy the interests of members in this Chicago IT organization. Three awards competitions recognize Chicago-area IT leaders who have used technology to provide extraordinary benefit to their organizations: CIO of the Year (co-sponsored by SIM and the Executives and Chicago), CISO of the Year (co-sponsored by SIM, ISSA, ISACA and InfraGard) and the Most Effective IT Team of the Year. Quarterly Chicago Chapter dinner meetings feature presentations by C-level executives and industry experts, who offer their own knowledge and insights related to technology hot topics.
