Topic:  Project Portfolio Management in Analytics

Organizations have more and more analytics, AI, and Machine Learning projects they must execute and are constantly challenged by a limited number of resources. Choosing the next project to work on is hard enough, but situations like COVID where strategic priorities radically shift require a way to identify in flight projects to be canceled, or at least postponed, to provide resources for the projects that must be started and completed quickly to address The strategic needs of the market. We must have a clear and easy way to prioritize projects. This talk provides you with a methodology that helps score the “strategic importance” and the “ease of implementation” of each of your projects. We will also explore how to use the resulting 2 x 2 matrix to manage the portfolio of projects over time.

Presenter:  Roger Moore

Roger Moore (roger@nlitx.com)  is the CEO and Managing Director at NLITX (www.nlitx.com) where he is an insight and growth fixated, high energy leader doggedly pursuing competitive advantage through strategic application of data and advanced analytics. Roger is also a well-respected lecturer at the University of Chicago in the Master of Science in Analytics Program. Previously Roger was VP, Analytics and Customer Operations at Entytle, driving increased installed base revenue utilizing AI and machine learning. Roger has also delivered value to his clients at Gartner, Sagence, Booz & Co, Diamond Advisory Services, and the Boston Consulting Group. He founded and chairs the Chicago Booth Big Data & Analytics Roundtable. Roger holds an MBA with focus in Finance and Statistics from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He also received a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.If you did not notice, Roger is a data and advanced analytics geek!
