Are you prepared for an AI Audit? or, Do You Want to be an AI Auditor?

Looking to do more with your AI knowledge?  Consider becoming an auditor in AI.  This session will highlight the auditing opportunities to utilize your AI expertise.

Also, for those building, or intending to build, AI systems, it will provide guidance for what to expect when your system is being audited (that is, the key things they will be looking for).  Be prepared to survive an AI Audit.

The learning curve of AI Systems developed, provided, or used requires many years of education and practical experience.  For those that have achieved this or are in the process, what else can this knowledge be applied to?  Compliance and Security concerns around the use of AI is rapidly evolving.  To address this, ISO has released an auditable standard, ISO 42001:2023 and NIST has released an entire sector to AI which includes research, guidance, an AI risk framework, and the evolution of creating an AI standard.   ISO has a competence requirement ranging in 3 – 6+ years of AI experience.  There is an immediate opportunity for AI experts within the auditing of AI controls and requirements.   The certification bodies for ISO have a massive competence gap.   They are considering requiring an AI Subject Matter Expert ( SME) to accompany a less than knowledgeable auditor during client audits.  Consulting companies that provide internal audits, also have the same gap.   As standards and frameworks grow, so does the need to audit.

This session will review the different requirements to become an ISO auditor, as well as other opportunity paths for compliance auditing for AI systems developed, provided, or used.

It will also provide enlightenment for those developing AI Systems so they are aware of the security and compliance requirements they need to build into their applications.
