  Title: State of Artificial Intelligence 2024

  Join us for our upcoming in-person AI SIG meeting as we explore the current "State of Artificial Intelligence 2024". Our open discussion will recap the year’s biggest AI advancements, from open source to proprietary LLMs, emerging areas of commercial applications for AI, regulations and geo-policies for AI, etc. We will also look ahead to 2025, exploring how multi-agent AI platforms are set to transform enterprise workflows, shaping the way we work for the foreseeable future.

  Registration in advance is required.  No walk-ins.  Registration will close 48 hours in advance of our meeting

  Quantum Mechanics have revolutionized the world we live in from the discoveries made in the early 1900's and it has taken a life of it's own as Quantum Computers have become a reality and we are getting close to cracking the 2048 key algorithm as suggested by Peter Shor in 1994. Join the session to get a quick background on Quantum Mechanics and the evolution of Quantum Computers and some of the future plans for IBM, Google and Microsoft in this fascinating field of studies.

  Presenter:  Arunava (Ron) Majumdar is an Advisory Solution Architect with more than 28 years of software design, architecture and development (23 years at IBM).  He leads the IBM Application Modernization portfolio for Signature Telecommunication Accounts.  He also leads the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) for the USA and is the Coordinator for CAS India and CAS Africa.

  He has been working on Telecommunication Use Cases and Academic Research projects with various universities in diverse fields Astronomy, Automobiles, Healthcare and others. His focus areas are architecture, Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Engineering and holds several patents in these fields. He is involved with automated deployment strategies to the Cloud and Kubernetes environments.

  Ron is in the Leadership board for IBM Open Innovation Community (OIC) for Chicago Chapter, Chicago Chapter Leader for AI Camp, Host for Future Tech SIG the for AITP Chicago and the Lead for the Developer Advocacy program in Chicago in collaboration with AI Alliance.
